A 10.0 g lead ri?e bullet is ?red with a speed of v into a ballistic pendulum with mass 10.00 kg, suspended from a cord 10.0 cm long. Assuming halfthe kinetic energy lost in the collision went into the bullet, what speed v would be necessary to melt the bullet? Assume the bullet was at 70°C when it hit the pendulum. The melting temperature of lead is 330 °C. It has a specific heat capacity of 130 J/(kg.K) and a latent heat of fusion of 25 J/g.
