o You are a project manager for a large electronics retailer (e.g., Best Buy) who will be implementing a new time keeping system to track hourly and salary employees' time and attendance. You have been asked to develop a balance scorecard that can be used to manage the effectiveness of this project. Select an area (e.g., financial, customer, business, and learning) that you will focus on from a balance scorecard viewpoint and explain how you will measure the effectiveness of the project.

Discussion #2 Have We Chosen the Right Employee?

- Once an organization has recruited candidates and they are going through the application process, how do they select the right employee? There are a number of tools and assessments that are used in selecting candidates for any given role. Please respond to the following question:

Then, imagine that your current organization, or one that you are familiar with, has decided to expand globally into the country you have chosen. Provide background information on the country, and then examine two to three (2-3) of the complexities and challenges you would likely face in designing, developing, and implementing an HRIS in that country. Recommend a strategy to meet each challenge that you identified, and explain the reasons why you believe your strategy would be effective.

- Cybersecurity threats have been on the rise over the last few decades. With more advanced technology, hackers have found ways to break through security defenses and haul away employee information. The headlines are filled with news on security breaches on very well-known organizations. First, watch the video "Massive cyberattack strikes Anthem" (1 min 43 s), and then please respond to the following question:

- Describe two (2) ways a hacker can gain access to employee information. Recommend the steps an organization could take to address these security breaches after the fact. Then, outline a plan for preventing these breaches from occurring, and specify the legal requirements you would structure around information security in an HRIS.
