Senior management has made a critical decision to reduce the company workforce so as to remain competitive in FY18, which started 1 April 2017. As VP of Human Resources at Ajax Company, you are tasked to communicate the “bad news” that downsizing will occur as of 1 July at the beginning of the company's Q2. You're not looking forward to writing this communication, for sure!

Although company sales have increased 5% each year over the past four years, the profitability has fallen to break-even levels due to a highly-competitive business environment in an unforgiving economy. 10% of the Ajax workforce will lose their jobs.
