According to Facebook user statistics, the average time a Facebook user aged 16-22 spends on Facebook per month is μ = 10.6 hours with a σ = 2.5 hour.
a. If a sample of 36 Facebook users aged 16-22 is selected at random, determine the probability the sample mean time falls between 9.8 and 11.1 hours per month on Facebook.
b. If a sample of 49 Facebook users aged 16-22 is selected at random, determine the probability that the sample mean time is greater than 11.3 hours.
c. Would it be possible to answer the previous part b question, if the sample size is 16 rather than 49? Explain why or why not.
d. If a sample of 100 Facebook users aged 16-22 is selected at random, determine the probability that the sample mean time will fall between 9.8 hours and 11.1 hours per month on Facebook.
e. Determine the sample mean time that cuts off the top 1% of all samples of size 64 Facebook users aged 16-22 will spend on Facebook each month. (round the result to the nearest tenth of an hour)
f. Explain the difference in the results of (a) and (d).
