Suppose we are studying climate change and we collect data on the average annual temperature and the number of pirates in the world in each year that we have records and we notice that the correlation coefficient is -0.75 between the temperature and the number of pirates. That is, we notice that the average temperature has gone up while the number of pirates has gone down.

What can we conclude?

A. The loss of the world's pirate population is causing global temperature to rise.

B. Global temperatures are rising because we are riding the world of pirates
