Task: Students will work in pairs and undertake a role play. 

Each student will receive a different scenario depicting a client presenting with a variety of issues. Each member of the pair will have the opportunity to play the worker and the client. Workers will conduct a meeting with their client for approximately 20 minutes - students will then swap roles.

The client meeting will require the worker to: 

  • Establish the issues the client is presenting with
  • Provide at least two achievable outcomes for the client 
  • Discuss referral possibilities.

Students must be sure to conduct this meeting according to the Australian Community Workers Association Code of Ethics.
