HR Generalist - VCA Canada
Overview
The HR Generalist is responsible for supporting general HR and benefit inquiries, preparing contractual agreements for employees and independent contractors, onboarding and off-boarding processes and is responsible for maintaining HR data integrity, and employment files. This role works alongside a small team of HR Generalists supporting the employee lifecycle with a strong focus on the benefits administration function of the business and will work closely with the Benefits Advisor.
Responsibilities
- Facilitates on-line onboarding and off-boarding of employees including but not limited to offer letters, benefit enrollment and other employee perks and programs registration
- Works closely Advisors and Business Partners to review and advise on employment contractual agreements
- Provides support to employees and leaders on general HR documents including but not limited to, confirmation of employment, employment changes, and negotiation on offers of employment
- Reviews and actions HR support transactions through our HRIS (Workday)
- Champion HRIS and support field with general inquiries
- Provides new manager introduction to HR systems and processes
- Advises on governmental and administration requirements to provide support through the foreign worker/immigration process
- Answers general inquires through email and phone on policies and procedures and escalates inquires to subject matter experts if required
- Maintain relationships with our external providers for employee perks such as Goodlife, Lifeworks, BMO etc and providing updates to offerings
- Maintain and update documentation on intranet resources for employee and manager access
- Maintain payroll deductions, benefit premium calculations and entry into Workday
- Reconcile monthly benefit billing statements
- Maintain benefit resources
Education and Experience
- Diploma or degree in business administration and/or Human Resources is an asset
- Minimum of 2 years in Human Resources administration
- Payroll and benefit administration is considered an asset
- Strong employee and client experience focus
