A social psychologist wants to measure whether there is an effect of living environment and political affiliation on people's attitudes towards religion. To this effect, he divides living environment into 2 groups (urban and rural), and political affiliation into 3 groups (Republican, Democrat, Other), and administers a questionnaire concerning attitudes towards religion to all of the participants.
