The case study should be on an actual client you have worked with during your internship, and appropriate precautions should be taken to protect the confidentiality of the client. Ideally, the case study will result in an active discussion among those in attendance to help formulate effective interventions.
1. Select a client that you would like to use as your case study. The case study must be with a client that you need assistance/guidance with regarding some aspect of their treatment (questions about the correct diagnosis, unsure about how to proceed in counseling, questions about including parents/spouse in session, etc..
2. If you did not complete the initial interview and/or a biopsychosocial on the client, you need to complete a biopsychosocial using either the format your site uses or one of the formats attached here.
3. Use the information in the biopsychosocial to write up a narrative report on the client.
4. You will use the narrative report to present the case study during supervision Presenting Problem, Psychosocial History, Mental Status, Assessment, Intervention Plan and Goals, Research Support Plan and Goals, Diagnostic Impressions, Skills and Challenge Areas of Session.
