Research and Project Reporting
Research Topic: Attacks and vulnerabilities in LoraWAN
LoraWAN as a low powered long distance communication network has been used to collect data from remote sensors for a while. The low operating cost and mobility of LoraWAN nodes make them a great choice for environmental studies (or any other work which needs long term data collection and reporting). A beauty of LoraWAN network is that third parties could install nodes in the network to increase the network accessibility and bandwidth. However, this comes with a scarify which creates security concerns on CIA of the data sent. In this project, you will study LoraWAN and the attack vectors associated to LoraWAN in contrast to other networks.
Carry out your research project in a professional and timely way
• Proactively liaise with your supervisor so as to discuss progress and report developments
• Plan and write a fully referenced project report using a scholarly style of structured writing (5000 words +Appendices)
• At the end of your research writing, in a new page. Summarise the work that you have undertaken, the results that you have obtained and any problems that you have encountered in 500 words
You will carry out your project and produce a final report which should consist (at least) of the following elements:
• Abstract
• Table of Contents
• Completed Student Declaration Form
• Introduction of the research project
• Comprehensive literature review
• Research methodology
• Data collected and results obtained (depending on the chosen project) Assessment description:Research and Project Reporting
• For projects involving hardware or software development, details of the design process, implementation phase and testing should be included.
• Analysis of results. (If you have produced a program - then test cases, results, and product documentation)
• Critical evaluation of results (including comparison with other relevant projects or studies)
• Conclusions and recommendations
• Bibliography/References
