A 60 kg slider is riding on a twisty water slide. 'they enter a horizontal loop section of the slide traveling at 4 m/s. the water slide is made of tubular sections with a 2 m diameters. The inner diameter of the loop is 10 m. Assume a frictionless surface

a) Draw a free body diagram (rat coordinates) of the slider as they go though the turn.

b) At what angle from the bottom of the tube is the slider deflected?

c) Is there a speed the slider could be traveling so that they would be 20 degrees from the bottom of the tube?

Now let's consider friction. The coefficient of kinetic friction between the tube and slider is 0.15.

d) Draw a free body diagram (art coordinates) of the slider as they go though the turn with friction.

e) lf the slider again enters the loop at 4 m/s, describe what happens to their deflection angle in the tube throughout the him.

Now let's consider a downward corkscrew section of the slide with 10 m inner diameter. (Same tube size and coefficient of kinetic friction as above). For every complete turn the slide drops by 4 meters.

f) Draw a free body diagram (act coordinates) of the slider as they go though the corkscrew.

g) What steady state speed can the slider maintain through the corkscrew?

h) What happen if the slider travels faster than this steady state velocity?

i) What happen if the slider travels slower than this steady state velocity?
