Steam with a mass flow rate of 20 kg/s enters an adiabatic turbine at a pressure of 10.0 MPa and a temperature of 550°C. It exits as a saturated mixture with a quality of 0.95, at a pressure of 20 kPa. A fraction of the turbine work output is used to drive an air compressor into which air flows at 10 kg/s. The inlet air pressure and temperature are 100 kPa and 295 K. Heat losses from the compressor are believed to be negligible. At the compressor exit, the air temperature is 620 K. How much of the turbine work output is available to power other devices, in addition to the compressor?
