Maddox Buckley is a child in the Chestnut Oak room who has severe asthma. Part of his Asthma Management Plan is to be given three doses of Ventolin every day, including one dose at lunchtime while he's at the service. The instructions provided by his parents for administration of the medication are:
• Provide two puffs of Ventolin using a spacer before sleep-time.
• Each puff should be given at least four breaths apart.
• Rinse his mouth out afterwards. This information is confirmed in Maddox's Asthma Management Plan. It is Wednesday 6th April and Maddox has just been given his Ventolin. Lilly Coates, the Lead Educator, witnessed you administer the Ventolin.
1. What documentation must be completed on arrival each day for Maddox and by whom?
2. Where should the Ventolin and spacer be stored?
3. How often must Little.ly educators participate in Asthma management training?
4. What must be checked before you administer the Ventolin to Maddox?
5. What must you do after you have administered the Ventolin?
