Measuring a velocity gradient at the surface of a 100 ft^2 plate to be 0.5362 sec-1 (I assume that this is a typo so I made the change to be ft/sec, ALSO i have no idea how sec-1 is associated with velocity) using a microprobe. Assuming that the fluid (water) is at a temp of 80 F and flows along a plate of 2.5ft wide and 40 ft long paraellel to the long side, calculate the shear force.
