A single-pass cross flow heat exchanger, shown below, is utilized to transfer heat from fluid A to fluid B. Right after installation of the exchanger, when fluid A enters the shell-side at 150oC while fluid B enters the tubes at 5oC, the outlet temperatures of the streams are TA,out = 105oC and TB,out = 95oC. After one month of continuous operation, because of fouling, the outlet temperature of stream B drops to 75oC. Assuming that fouling does not affect the flow thermal capacity of the streams, estimate the outlet temperature of the hot stream after one month of operation. If the overall heat transfer coefficient in the exchanger right after installation was Uo = 100 W/m2 K, estimate the overall heat transfer coefficient in the exchanger after one month of operation (Uf) and the fouling resistance (Rf).
