A piston-cylinder device has nitrogen gas at 160 kPa and 158oC. The 23-cm diameter piston initially pushes against a set of stops. Before the piston starts moving down, 2 kJ of heat is transferred from the gas to the surroundings. The cooling continues until the temperature of the gas drops to 17oC. Assuming constant specific heats at 400 K, determine the total heat transferred from the gas. Take the atmospheric pressure to be 101 kPa. Height of cylinder is 54 cm.
