As a committed olympic weightlifter, you bring alonf a barbell on your campaign trip. Each end of the bar carries a mass of 50 kg of armco iron, and you may theat these masses as lumped. The bar itself is 1.2m long, of 3 cm diameter, made of carbon steel. clumsy, you drop one end of the bar in the fire. After hastily removing it from the firepit, the hot side is 400 degrees celcious and the cool side is 30 degrees celcious. Assume the only thermal interaction is conduction between the masses along the bar. How long does it take for the masses to equilibrate to within 5 degrees celcious of each other?
