To test whether there is any association between two variables using Chi-square test for independence.

A researcher is interested in studying the relationship between salary levels and unionization for public employees. Specifically, the researcher hypothesizes that public sector employees who are unionized have higher salary levels than public sector employees not unionized. Random sampling police departments in 100 cities, the researcher constructs the cross-tab below.
