Assignment - Priority Setting Exercise
In Assessment 2 you conducted a health inequality audit for a zone from the Social Health Atlas. In your audit you uncovered inequalities in several health indicators.
For Assessment 3, you will write a report on the factors that may influence priority setting for these health indicators in your zone. Key factors influencing priority setting may include:
- The scale of the problem
- Alignment with governments' priorities and targets
- Financial cost
- Potential to produce improvement
- Strength of evidence base.
The report must contain:
1. Introduction of factors influencing priority setting including data comparison addressing social determinants of health; Identifying the scale of the problem; evidence of reading three recommended papers.
2. Discussion of factors influencing priority setting including aligning the priority with governments' priorities and targets; assessing the financial cost; potential to produce improvement; Strength of evidence base; Other factors considered; Conclusion.
3. High quality presentation, in terms of format, meeting general requirements for task; coherence of expression; and adherence to conventions of writing (spelling, grammar, length) and referencing.
