The Reimbursement Landscape

Scenario:  A local community group representing the elderly in your area has asked you to talk about healthcare reform to their members. Keep in mind that few members of your audience have a background in healthcare. You will explain the reimbursement challenges facing providers in your local area and make the case for advocating for funding for healthcare reform.

To prepare for this DQ, research the largest healthcare provider in your area, and then write a brief summary of the main points that you will cover in your talk. Be sure to include answers to the following questions:

  • Are your providers being impacted by charity care and cost shifting?
