There are 5 basic reasons that firms have to justify an acquisition (reduce costs, gain market power, increase growth, learn to build capabilities & manage risk and other financial objectives) . Pick one and discuss a company that you think has utilized such an acquisition reason(s).

Now think farther down the road (5-10 years). For the industry sector (of the company you cited) do you see any other acquisitions taking place (by other companies)? What macro-level forces are at play that lead to such acquisitions?
