Assignment - Disciplinary Hearing Report
Instructions: This report will be submitted in two parts.
Part 1: The student will review the disciplinary decisions from the College of Nurses' of Ontario (CNO) website. After choosing one of the decisions regarding a nurse, the student will post their choice in the discussion thread on Blackboard. The student cannot choose the same nurse as another student. The student will save the disciplinary decision report as a PDF or word document and post it as an assignment on Blackboard.
Part 2: The student will review the disciplinary report and create an outline before starting the report. A sample outline is indicated below. The student will use the APA essay template to write their assignment 2 report, which incorporates information from the outline. It is suggested that the student will review their final draft with Writing Centre or a teacher for clarity and conciseness.
Final report should be approximately 800 words.

2. Subheading 1: Role of the CNO
- Explain the role of the CNO during a disciplinary investigation
- Explain similarities of similarities and differences of a CNO disciplinary hearing to the Ontario court system
3. Subheading 2 Summary of Disciplinary Report
- main allegations indicated in the disciplinary report
- the nurses' plea (admitted or did not admit)
- summary of the penalty
4. Subheading 3 Interventions and Reflection
- 1 intervention/strategy a nurse could do to make sure this didn't happen to them (citation needed)
- 1 intervention/strategy a nurse could do if this nurse was their co-worker (citation)
- Reflect on how reading this disciplinary decision has affected the students future clinical performance
5. Conclusion paragraph.
