Question: Assign the CPT surgery code for: Postoperative diagnosis: Left upper lobe non-small cell cancer; suspicion of metastatic disease to periaortic lymph nodes. Procedure performed: Cervical mediastinoscopy and biopsy Procedure description: Under general anesthesia, the patient was intubated in the supine position, and then positioned, prepped and draped for cervical mediastinoscopy. With the mediastinoscope in place, a mediastinal mass was biopsied. The cervical mediastinoscopy incision was closed in layers with Monocryl at the skin. Dressing was applied. No blood loss. Patient was awakened, extubated and taken to the recovery room.
