Case: Through mergers and acquisitions, JLM, a global products and services company, has doubled in size in just five years. JLM has more than 80,000 employees working in more than 100 countries around the world. JLM created a world-class leader development program to provide a common skill established by JLM leaders. Lower-level leaders work in every JLM business, including retail operations. They also run different numbers of employees. Some lead teams of more than ten employees, others work with only a few employees in functional areas such as research and development. the quality, safety, innovation, and performance of the JLM environment. The program includes a one-week leadership course that focuses on how to lead teams, the role of top-level leaders, and the expectations of leaders at JLM. E-learning modules are used to help top-level leaders understand the issues of safety, health, safety legislation, ethics, and financial decisions. For a day and a half, the courses focus on performance goals, JLM company structure, understanding of the JLM firm, and JLM regional and global strategies.
