Assignment:

Essentially, this assignment involves assessing your individual leadership competencies and creating a personal strategy for self-improvement in several select key leadership competencies. Your strategy will include how to monitor progress in accomplishing specific goals and objectives related to these competencies.

Use the ACHE Healthcare Executive Competencies 2022 Assessment Tool (link attached above) in order to prepare a leadership plan of action for improvement in 3 leadership competencies in which you feel you should improve most.

Select 3 competencies from within the five critical domains (Communication, Leadership, Professionalism, Healthcare Knowledge, and Business skills). The 3 competencies do not have to all be under a single critical domain. Once you identify 3 competencies as personal areas for improvement, describe the following items for each of the 3 competencies:

• Briefly describe goals. For example, how to advance, become a better leader/manager.
• Describe why you believe you need improvement in that area. First, identify your skill level (Novice, Competent, or Expert) then report on each of the skills in which you are deficient and relate the deficiencies to particular problems you have had in the workplace, in your courses, or in personal life that you would like to improve upon. For example, one of your 3 competencies might be Communication Skills under the Communication and Relationship management domain. Under that competency, select the specific skills you need to improve.
• Using concepts explored in the course as well as researching related articles from other sources as provided in the Assessment Tool reference list, develop a detailed plan of action in which you describe the steps you will take to improve your selected competencies.
• Describe how you will continue to monitor progress and measure improvement in each.
