Assessing Designated Substances 

In this request, please find a Material Safety Data Sheet for one of the products used at any place of work. Please follow the process that  joint health and safety committee may have used to assess how that substance should be controlled. To analyze the sequence, use the Workbook for Designated Substance Assessments provided by the Workplace Safety and Prevention Services WSPS----> link attached below.

The workbook is, "designed to help  collect and analyze information for a designated substance assessment. It is comprised of various worksheets that will take you through your assessment in a systematic manner" (WSPS 2011). A generic diagram of the decision process is pastted on this page.

The goal is to follow the committee process from begining to end so that you understand the sequence and where each point of legislation applies. Please do not  become a one person from committee / fill out the assessment report.
