Elodie is a 7-year old girl who was referred to the UNSW psychology clinic by her GP because of her mother's concerns around Elodie hitting peers at school, taking items that don't belong to her from school and shops, refusing to do what she is told, and arguing. Elodie throws tantrums when told she can't have something she wants or when required to do public speaking in class or participate in sports competitions. Her mother reported un-enrolling Elodie from extracurricular activities because of her extreme shyness and "emotional meltdowns" to avoid performing in front of other children. These problems reportedly began two years ago when Elodie started primary school and occur weekly.

You are a first year Master of Clinical Psychology student doing your clinical placement in the University clinic. What DSM diagnosis or diagnoses would you consider for Elodie and why?
