ASSESSMENT 2 - PROJECT
TASK A: CONDUCT A SESSION WITH A TEAM MEMBER TO ESTABLISH WORK GOALS
You will be placed in groups of THREE nominated by your trainer and you are to conduct a role play meeting during class time to assist in developing work goals, plans and activities.
You will take turns on playing three roles: one of a HR Manager, another as an IT Support Officer and a Mobile Phone Sales Assistant of a Mobile Phone company. As the HR Manager you will conduct 2 (TWO) performance development reviews for both roles in IT.
You will only be assessed on your practical skills as the HR Manager, you will need to complete TWO records using the EMPLOYEE CAREER PLAN MEETING RECORD template provided below, you must record the following information:
1. Discuss and agree on the main objectives of the IT Support Officer and the Mobile Phone Sales Assistant. Please see below list of responsibilities as an example to help select the work goals:
IT SUPPORT OFFICER DUTIES/FUNCTIONS/RESPONSIBILITIES:
o maintaining records of software licences
o managing stocks of equipment, consumables, and other supplies
o talking to clients and computer users to determine the nature of problems
o responding to breakdowns
o installing and configuring computer hardware, software, systems, networks, printers, scanners and more

CASE SCENARIO: MATRIX HOMES
A building and construction company called Matrix Homes is a medium sized business with 92 workers. The workforce comprises 70 per cent blue collar labourers and tradesmen and 30 per cent white collar professionals and administration staff.
Consultation with management identified that a key priority was to:
- address the rising rates of unscheduled work absences
- address the rising rates of injury claims associated with physical disorders.
An audit of the work environment found that while Matrix Homes had a system for managing the risk of hazardous manual tasks, there were no supportive policies or facilities in place that sought to improve the health and wellbeing of workers which could assist in proactively preventing injuries and reducing the amount of work absences by their employees.
With an overarching long-term goal to decrease absenteeism and increase productivity, the health and safety committee decided to get the advice of a WHS Consultant on identifying techniques to manage team health and wellbeing in the workplace.
You are to act as the WHS Consultant and complete the table below identifying strategies to assist Matrix Homes with their health and wellbeing issues.
