In your group, you are expected to select and prepare a complete event proposal for a large-scale event. You are in competition with other event planners, and as such, you must prepare a proposal which clearly and succinctly outlines your plans for this event. We will focus the event to align with TIFF and it mission and vision. The event that you will be preparing a proposal for can be one of the following events that will take place during TIFF. 

  • Festival Kick Off with Buffy Sainte-Marie
  • Festival Street Kick Off with Kardinal Offishall
  • In Conversations with Damien Chazalle
  • In Conversations with Eddie Redmayne

You will need to incorporate all aspects of event planning, sponsorship etc. Use the rubric in preparation for the proposal and for guidance.

The goals of this assignment are:

  • To identify and plan an event which embraces the objectives of the event
  • To incorporate various elements/components of an event into a written proposal
  • To work in a team environment

Prepare a written proposal which includes the following:

  1. Objectives and goals
  2. Date / Time
  3. Budget
  4. Venue
  5. Programming / Activities
  6. Target Audience
  7. Marketing
  8. Operations and Logistics
  9. Risk Management
  10. Evaluation

The proposal must be feasible and viable.
