Case: Using "Rhetoric" need to analyze what you watch, read, observe, and/or hear. You should be looking for opportunities to use theories from the class to interpret your observation or experience of the world. You can analyze and discuss television shows, movies, newspaper and magazine articles, cartoons, personal conversations, workplace interactions, electronic conversations, textbooks from other courses - the list of potential materials is endless. How we define an instance of communication is very broad so think broadly. . In the text of the entry, bold each concept when it is first introduced. Underline the passage in which you apply the concept to analyze the communication. In this context, application means providing reasoning or an explanation based in the theory/concept as to why the communication occurred as it did or what the communication means beyond face value.
This needs to follow 3 guidelines being:
Question 1. Showing understanding of 4 concepts/key terms. Define concepts, both in terms the text uses.
Question 2. Application of 4 concepts/key terms. Explain how the concepts are illustrated by some aspect of the instance of communication
Question 3. Show Understanding of how concepts/key terms relate to each other in the context of the theory.
