1. In Williams' "Biblical Theology of Human Sexuality," he explains that God made sex to be good, and as a result gave humans sexual desires to drive us towards intimacy. Human sexuality is good when these desires are channeled into what God had designed in the creation narrative: a rightly-ordered heterosexual, monogamous marriage (Kim). All others, whether same-sex genital sexuality, polygamy, or sex outside the covenant of marriage, represent disordered and sinful human sexuality (Kim).
2. While God's word emphasizes sex to be a part of a person, our world has commodified sex into a simple transactional activity (Kim). Rather than being seen as a deeper form of intimacy and giving between husband and wife, sex is a mere activity to appease desires (Kim). Uniquely, Christians are not immune to this; purity culture proposed sex as something which you give away to your future spouse, creating a toxic attitude towards human sexuality (Kim).
3. In the article "Let's Cast a Vision for Mere Sexuality," Todd Wilson addresses how we, as Christians, are to properly educate others on Biblical Sexuality. Particularly, Wilson says that we need to approach this vision with compassion for others, recognizing the grievous problem of disordered sexuality which unravels in the world and in our churches. Most importantly, we need to recognize that these are real people struggling with real sin; as Dr. Kim elaborated, they are still made in the image of God, and we still need to treat them with dignity, mercy, and grace.
