Question

HLT-520 Su-Young is a native of China who is living with her son and daughter-in-law. She speaks some English, but not extensively. Her son is the sole decision maker for Su-Young's health care decisions. Suspicious lumps were found as a result of a mammogram. The physicians want to biopsy the lumps. Her son refuses this procedure, as Su-Young's sister died after an aggressive chemo regime for breast cancer. The physicians try to reason with the son, but he will not make any arrangements for the biopsy or follow-up treatment. Are Su-Young's patient rights being violated? What recommendations would you make to the son?
