Case Study

Mimi is a 19 -years old first-generation South-Korean College sophomore student who was admitted to the ED after taken an overdose of Acetaminophen. She has agreed to be admitted to the inpatient psychiatric unit for further evaluation.

She reports that she wanted to die when she took an overdose. Her family came to ED and wanted to take her home, insisted that she was not suicidal, just "took so many pills by mistake". The RN in the ED understands the family concerns and their worries about stigma associated with their daughter having made suicide attempt.

Case Assignment:
