2. Sustainability issues are becoming a larger and more critical component of the international business discourse and practice. As there are many centripetal and centrifugal forces associated with international business and sustainable development, comprehensively describe how water is one element of the global, regional, and local sustainability puzzle. Illustrate your answer with an appropriate discussion of business' and society's relationship to water (e.g., infrastructure, price, cultural relationship, access, poverty, scarcity, virtual water as a traded good, product life cycle analysis, strategic planning, etc.) around the world.
3. Are motivation theories and practices culture-bound? Are leadership, decision-making, HR theories (e.g., performance appraisal, MBO), organizational development strategies, and empowerment theories culture-bound? Explain using specific and appropriate business examples, national cultures, and cultural dimensions offered by Hofstede and Hall and other appropriate course resources and life/work experiences.
4. Tie together all the major themes in this course: globalization, international trade, MNE strategy, sustainability, political risk and international business ethics, and culture and international business.
