Q: Are ethics and ethical standards universal? Or, are ethics and ethical standards socially constructed (that is, created by those occupying the society)? If you believe ethics are universal, how do you explain varying ethical standards from one culture to another or one business to another? If you believe ethics are socially constructed, could it be possible that the ethical standards of corporate boards (a widely accepted subculture) allow egotistical and ruthless businesspersons to run companies, as so many do. Please respond with at least 250 words.
