Question: Take a position - Are effective health care sales people born or developed by training?
Although virtually anyone can be a sales person, it doesn't necessary mean that they will be good at. In my opinion it takes a special individual to be a great sales person and selling comes natural to those that are great at it.
Great sales people should have a great personality, enjoy working and talking to people, the ability to persuade, a good memory, be optimistic, a high need to succeed and always willing to take a risk.
Most of these attributes come to good sales people naturally while they need training to fine tune their qualities. When it comes to selling health care it definitely will take in depth training to ensure that the sales person has good knowledge of the products/services they are selling. Ultimately, I feel that in order to be a great sales person you have to want to sale and enjoy selling products/services.
