Description
This written assessment item places you in the role of an employee of the consultancy firm, Econsult. In this position you are given a project to work on that encompasses environmental problems/issues in construction aligning to the Sustainable Development Goals. You will be required to provide a solution/s to the problem and write a professional report that gives background, justification and recommendations to your solution/s.
The problem scenario is fully explained in the Assessment Item 2 Briefing document within the Assessments tab in Blackboard and should require no further explanation. You may be required to make assumptions or ‘educated' guesses on any information/material that you believe to be missing. If this is the case, you are to explain/justify these assumptions.
This course places a high value on the development of students' academic and professional writing including such qualities as structuring sections and paragraphs to bring out a sound professional discussion, control of the conciseness and relevance of the discussion and to use appropriate citation and referencing techniques.
The assessment criteria for this assignment refers to particular qualities of written work including clarity and conciseness of style, identification of issues, structuring of argument, development of solution/s, evidence of critical and relevant reading, depth of analysis, explication of assumptions, integration of interpretations and so on.
Given these expectations, please note that the report should achieve the objectives within 3000 words excluding executive summary, diagrams, tables, figures, footnotes and reference list.
