One way to learn whether an aptitude test works is to test applicants for the particular job, hire them all, and subsequently correlate test score with a measure of job profi- ciency. Another way, usually more practical, is to test all currently employed workers of the particular type and obtain the same correlation. Is there any reason to think that the coefficient might be different when obtained in these two ways? Explain.
