Your buddy Rakesh in a union. He is fed up with his job as a baggage handler at Air Canada. Even though the union and employer reached a collective agreement contract six months ago, the working environment is harsh and workers believe management has been violating the agreement. Rakesh tells you that he and 36 coworkers in the grounds crew are planning to walk off the job as a labour strike at Pearson tomorrow morning. This will, of course, create confusion and chaos at Canada's busiest airport. He says it will teach his employer a lesson. Are the workers allowed to do this? Is there a more appropriate way to resolve alleged contract violations?
