Wear a Mask? Earlier studies (March, 2020) of the Los Angeles response to the COVID-19 epidemic indicated that 78% of Los Angeles based residents wear a mask consistently when outdoors. A research virologist believes that TODAY (December 1, 2020), this rate is much different. She conducts a survey of 250 randomly selected Los Angeles residents and finds that 184 of them wear a mask consistently when outdoors. Conduct the appropriate hypothesis test that addresses the virologist's suspicions. Test at a 5% level of significance.

a] State the appropriate null hypothesis and the alternative hypotheses.

b] Verify the three requirements to perform the hypothesis test.

c] Find the test statistic. Round to 3 decimal places.

d] Find the p-value. Round to 3 decimal places.

e] State the initial decision for the test (Reject HO or Fail to reject HO).

f] State the conclusion in context of the problem.

g] For this scenario, what would it mean if we made a "Type I" Error? Explain in the context of this problem.
