Julie worked for a clothing store in a mall for over 2 years. During this time, she worked 40 hours per week for the two year period and paid into Employment Insurance on each pay cheque. Three weeks ago, Julie decided to quit her job. She had lost interest in her current position, as she was no longer interested in fashion. Julie is thinking of applying for Employment Insurance Benefits. Given the details so far, is she eligible to receive Employment Insurance Benefits? Explain your answer and refer to legislation if and when applicable.
