Question: The client interview helps social workers obtain necessary information for client planning and goal setting and provides a primary means for collecting information during the assessment phase. Interviewing calls for multiple techniques, with each technique assessing the client's verbal and nonverbal communication. Nonverbal cues can include the client's tone of voice, facial expressions, and body language.
