Assessment: Market view and trading session
Report and summary
This is an individual assessment task. The purpose of this assessment is to apply your knowledge learned in the class to participate in a simulated trading scenario with real life data. Students need to create their market view and initiate their trades.
There will be a 2-hour trading session run during the class in Week 6. Before the trading session, students need to do research and form their market view. During the trading session, students are required to trade based on market data and their market view. Afterthe trading session, students are required to submit their transaction log spreadsheet within 30 minutes. They also need to submit a market view report and a summary of trading which are due within 5 days after the trading session. For example, if a trading session finishes at 2:30pm on Monday, the market view report and the summary of trading for this session are due by 2:30pm on Saturday of the same week. Trades implemented need to be consistent with the market view presented in the report. When they submit their market view report and summary of trading, they are required to submit their transaction log spreadsheet again together with these two files.
Citation and referencing should be provided where necessary. Students should follow the Harvard referencing style. Students are required to keep back-ups of all submitted work just in case any are lost.
