Learning Outcomes:

1. Demonstrate an understanding of the research planning process, business research methods and understanding importance of professional ethics, and of how to recognize and address ethical issues when they arise in a business research project.

2. Apply concepts of business research to business scenarios.

3. Evaluate the impact of existing business research in a business environment.

4. Evaluate and compare various business research methodologies then apply them to a specific business research project.

5. Develop a research proposal, research project plan, literature review to be able to solve business problem and explain research outcomes.

6. Evaluate professional practice issues in business research.

7. Justify chosen research methodology (quantitative/qualitative) and explain procedures for data collection, proposed data analysis, and limitations of your proposed study.

Individual and Group Assignments
Your assignment must be completed and submitted on time in the prescribed format and via the online Safe Assign portal. There is an opportunity to trial submit a DRAFT version of your assignment (the Safe Assign link for DRAFTS is found in BB ‘My Organisations'. The DRAFT version is not seen by your lecturer and this facility exists for your own use only. Be aware that significant similarity scores will be treated with suspicion of academic misconduct; if over 40%, the assignment will be referred to Degree Convenor; if over 70%, the assignment will be referred to Dean: Academic. All work submitted must be your own, original work. Any submitted assignment that is not the student's own original work will evoke an academic misconduct report and will not be marked. The FINAL version must be submitted via the link in this unit's BB site. The final version is the only one your lecturer can mark and comment on. Late penalties will apply to overdue assignments, at the rate of -10% per day, in this unit.

Business Presentations
In this unit your lecturer may specify one or more presentations. You are expected to arrive for any presentation ahead of time. If you are late for your presentation, you may not be eligible to present and may not receive any marks. Where a business presentation involves a group, all group members are expected to be present. Unless your lecturer advises otherwise, students should dress in business attire for presentations.
