When an incident ray strikes the first refracting surface of a prism at an angle of 50.77°, all the deviation occurs at the first refracting surface. When an internal ray strikes the second refracting surface of the same prism at an angle of 28° all the deviation occurs at the second surface. Calculate the apical angle and index of refraction of the prism. ANS. Apical angle = 28°; n = 1.65
