CODE THIS: Inpatient admission: The patient was admitted for severe aortic valve stenosis and left ventricular hypertrophy. The aortic valve was replaced with a prosthesis via open approach. The patient was successfully weaned from the cardiopulmonary bypass (extracorporeal cardiac) machine. An intraoperative echocardiogram revealed appropriate functioning of the prosthesis. Discharge diagnoses: (1) Aortic stenosis and calcification, (2) left ventricular hypertrophy.
