Anthocyanins are naturally occurring compounds that impart color to fruit, vegetables, and plants. Anthocyanins are the pigments that make blueberries blue, raspberries red; they are also largely responsible for the red coloring of buds and young shoots and the purple and purple-red colors of autumn leaves. Anthocyanins are thought to play a major role in the high antioxidant activity levels observed in red and blue fruits and vegetables. Chemists have discovered nearly 300 different anthocyanins. Finish drawing a resonance contributor in Box 3 that shows positive charge on one of the other oxygens in this anthocyanin. It is not necessary to draw any electron flow arrows in your response.
