For this response assignment, I would like you to practice applying a critical framework when analyzing a text by choosing ONE (1) of Smith and Watson's "Twenty-four Strategies for Reading Life Narratives" and applying it to Alison Bechdel's Fun Home. Using one of the twenty-four strategies as a lens, 500-word (minimum) response that discusses a particular scene, stylistic/formal element, recurring theme, or symbol in Fun Home. Your discussion should explicitly specify which strategy you have chosen to apply and should illustrate the ways in which this strategy helps us to better understand how life writing (and memoir in particular) works to generate meaning for the reader and how the medium of comics changes this experience/process.

Essentially, the goal of this assignment is to use the suggestions and questions given in one of the strategies to focus your response on particular aspect of Bechdel's text. You don't have to answer all the questions asked in your chosen strategy, but rather choose those that are most applicable to the text and your own ideas about how it functions.
