Screening

A screening test is done in ordr to detect the possibility of health disorders or different diseases in people who don't have any symptoms of disease. The main goal is the early detection and lifestyle modification or surveillance, to decrease the risk of having disease, or to detect it early enough to manage it most effective way.

There are 2 main types of carrier screening tests: The Molecular (analyzing the DNA-genetic code) and the biochemical (enzyme measuring activity). The carrier screening for the Tay-Sachs disease and Sandhoff disease includes the combination of both the genetic and enzyme screening for the most sensitive results.
