Assignment - Analyzing Policy Goals and Objectives in Social Programs and Policies
INTRODUCTION - In this unit, you will apply the six elements you studied in the previous unit to describe a social policy and program before evaluating its merit. To do this, you will consider goals and objectives, which are at the core of policies and programs.
Again, social policy and program analyses help social workers see whether benefits are being equally distributed among members of society. If they are not, it is the responsibility of social workers to advocate on behalf of their clients for changes that promote human well-being and social justice.
OBJECTIVES - To successfully complete this learning unit, you will be expected to:
- Describe goals and objectives in policies targeted to categorized populations, such as race, religion, disabilities, or socioeconomic status.
- Explore and describe the various forms and mechanisms of oppression and discrimination.
